Here are a few things I've come up with - feel free to add your own.
Mid States Bucket List
- Attend the annual Baggo tournament. This is held at the social event on Thursday evening, and is always a great time. It's a wonderful way to meet people and show off (or not) your skills.
- Ride the Elevator. Whether or not you are staying in the tower, riding the elevator is a must. Notice the floor that is missing!
- Play GaGa Ball. This has nothing to do with Lady. Haven't heard of it? Visit the exhibit hall and try it out!
- Volunteer. Be a room host. Take tickets at a meal. Help at Registration. Get Stacie coffee. You receive a fabulous t-shirt when you volunteer. Do it.
- Get your picture taken with Chuck. Don't know who Chuck is? He's hanging out at Hospitality.
- Swim under the wall. It could be snowing and you could swim from inside to outside, outside to inside. You have to. Where else can you do that and end up outside during the winter?
- Have your mind read by Michael Brandwein. It's Michael Brandwein. Reading your mind. The only thing cooler would be John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt sharing your name.
- Eat an apple from the front desk. This resort offers apples every day, all of the time, at the front desk. Keep the doctor away and enjoy this little perk that you don't find anywhere else.
- Attend your section meeting. Get to know others from your Section, and find out the latest on news and trainings. There may be snacks. Or presents. Or games. You won't know if you don't go.
- Zumba. Are you like me and have heard of Zumba, checked it out a little bit on the internet but are too nervous about dancing like that in front of people at a gym? Try it out in front of fellow camp people! We are all about having a good time, so throw a little bit of exercise in there too! Join Kim on Friday and Saturday mornings at 6:45am in Preservation A.
- Have a book signed by a fabulous author. Faith Evans, Bob Ditter, Michael Brandwein...you could have their autographs on one of their books (or all of their books)! If you already have their books or just purchased them at the conference, stop by the book store at the designated times to meet the wonderful people who have put time and talent into sharing their expertise with those of us in the camping field.
- Give Paul at Hospitality a High-5! You know who he is...Paul, the hospitality guy. He's been on the Steering Committee for years, helping you get to where you need to go at the conference, answer your questions, and make sure you get your t-shirts. He's one of the coolest guys you will meet - don't let this High-5 opportunity slip away!
